Tippie MBA Ranked Best Value in the World

Chiara sent me an article posted on my school's website citing the increase in salary after graduation and the relative cost of the MBA at the University of Iowa, as being reasons why the Financial Times have ranked the University of Iowa higher than last year.

I have posted the article in the comments section if you are interested.

Tippie MBA Program Rises In Financial Times Ranking

If you ask MBA students why they enrolled in a program, most of them will respond that they want to advance their career and increase their salary. If an MBA program is successful, graduates will be making more money than they did prior to the program.

The new ranking from The Financial Times proves that the Tippie MBA at The University of Iowa does just that. In addition to an improved overall ranking, the program placed a strong first in one of the most important rating categories: its students earned the highest percentage increase in salary among North American schools.

The Tippie School of Management's MBA rose in the Financial Times'
international rankings to 33rd in the world up from its 35th place ranking of last year. That translates to 18th place within U.S. programs and seventh among public universities.

The average Tippie School graduate received a 160 percent salary increase as measured by the difference in their salary three years after completing the program to what they had been earning just prior to starting the program.
Tippie graduates earned an average of $94,823 three years after graduation, combining salary figures from the 2004, 2005 and 2006 Financial Times surveys.

The Tippie MBA ranked first among the top 25 U.S. schools in The Financial Times "value for the money" category. This category includes both professional success and the cost of the education. The Tippie program also achieved a 98
percent employment rate at three months after graduation.

"I'm very proud of our graduates and their professional success. Our students are getting an extraordinary business education from highly regarded faculty while living in a vibrant Midwestern city," said Gary Gaeth, associate dean of MBA programs in the Tippie School of Management.

Published Jan. 30, the rankings highlight the top 100 schools among the 1,500 MBA programs in the world. The rankings of each school were determined by performance in three broad areas: the career development and purchasing power of graduates; the diversity of the school and its program; and business research capabilities.

The Tippie School of Management offers three MBA programs designed to enhance professional education: a Fulltime MBA; the MBA for Professionals and Managers(MBA-PM) Program, which is offered predominately in the evenings for students in Des Moines, Newton, Cedar Rapids and the Quad Cities; and the Executive MBA, with programs in Iowa City and Des Moines. In addition, the Tippie School has expanded offerings over recent years by providing a Dual Master's Degree
Program for engineers, in conjunction with Iowa State University and an International Executive MBA program in both Hong Kong and Beijing.
